Residential Roof Installation and Repairs!
If you are a homeowner, you probably have a residential roof. Residential roofs tend to have a higher pitch, and are smaller in size compared to a commercial roof. There are several different options for residential roofing: steel shingles, asphalt shingles, and EDPM (if you have a lower pitch).
Steel Shingles
Steel shingles are very durable, lightweight, and they are also water resistant. Although they are more expensive, they have a longer lifespan compared to asphalt. Additionally, the material reflects solar heat so the home interior is kept cooler, making your home more energy efficient. This roofing material also increases the resale value of your home. There are several options for finishes, which will give your home the look you want.
Asphalt Shingles
The most popular roofing material is asphalt shingles. Not only do they come at a lower cost, but there are a wide variety of colors and textures available. They have a traditional aesthetic and tend to be more visually appealing compared to their counterparts. The material is also naturally fire resistant. Replacing asphalt shingles tends to be easier compared to their counterparts as well.
EPDM Rubber Membrane
This is a very durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane. This is a great option for roofs with a low-slope. It is available in two colors-black and white- and comes in many sizes. Hail can dent shingles, but this material has the ability to outlast several hailstorms, and rarely leaks compared to asphalt shingles. It is also fire-retardant. Maintenance also tends to be easier compared to its counterparts. The material offers a long lifespan at an affordable price. This material tends to be quicker to install, reducing labor costs.
